In plain terms: Watchtower is a free tool that shows you public data — it is not an emergency service, not financial advice, and not a substitute for official sources when it really matters. It's provided "as is," the data comes from third parties we don't control, and any AI features run on an account and key that belong to you, not us.

1. Acceptance of these terms

These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Sleeping Giant Marketing Services (OPC) Private Limited, trading as Sleeping Giant Marketing ("we", "us"), governing your use of the Watchtower mobile application ("Watchtower", the "app") and this website. By downloading, installing, or using Watchtower, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

2. The service

Watchtower is a free, ad-free application with no in-app purchases and no user account, that aggregates public data — a live globe of aircraft, ships, satellites and hazards, plus markets, news and radio — directly from third-party sources onto your device. 3. Eligibility

You must be legally capable of entering into a binding agreement to use Watchtower. If you are under the age of majority or the "digital consent age" in your jurisdiction, you may only use the app with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian. Watchtower is a general-audience app and is not directed at children — see §12 of our Privacy Policy.

4. Licence to use the app

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to download and use Watchtower on a device you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial use, in accordance with the usage rules of the App Store or Google Play through which you obtained it. This licence does not give you any ownership interest in the app.

The app's own source code is published under the MIT Licence (see the open-source notices on the Sources page) — that licence governs the code itself; the Watchtower name, logo, and brand assets are not covered by it and remain ours.

5. Your own keys and third-party accounts

Some Watchtower features are optional and work only if you supply your own API key or account credentials for a third-party provider (for example, an AI provider, or a data provider like ACLED or FRED). If you choose to use these features:

You are solely responsible for obtaining that key or account, for any fees or usage limits your provider charges you, and for complying with that provider's own terms of service and acceptable-use policy.
We have no visibility into, and no responsibility for, your account or billing relationship with that provider.
You are responsible for keeping your own keys confidential; anyone with access to your unlocked device could use a key stored on it.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Watchtower to: (a) violate any applicable law or regulation, including export control and sanctions laws; (b) stalk, harass, or endanger any person, including by using flight, ship, or satellite tracking data to do so; (c) interfere with, overload, or abuse any third-party provider's systems beyond that provider's own published terms; (d) reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the app, except to the extent applicable law expressly permits; or (e) misrepresent your identity or impersonate any person or entity.

7. Third-party data and content disclaimer

Watchtower aggregates data and content — including news, social posts, weather, hazard, aviation, maritime, satellite, financial, sanctions and conflict data — from many independent third-party sources, without independently verifying it. We do not endorse, and are not responsible for the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, or legality of, any third-party data or content shown in the app. Any views expressed in aggregated content belong to their original authors, not to us. Sources can be delayed, incomplete, or temporarily unavailable, and we make no guarantee of uptime for any upstream feed.

8. Not professional advice

Market, economic, and financial data shown in Watchtower is provided for general informational purposes only and does not constitute financial, investment, legal, or tax advice. You should not make any financial decision based solely on data shown in the app. Similarly, nothing in the app constitutes medical, legal, or other professional advice.

9. Emergency & safety disclaimer

WATCHTOWER IS NOT AN EMERGENCY RESPONSE, LIFE-SAFETY, OR NAVIGATION TOOL. Hazard, weather, earthquake, tsunami, conflict, and aviation/maritime data in the app is aggregated from public sources for general awareness only, and may be delayed, incomplete, or wrong. Do not use Watchtower to make evacuation decisions, for aircraft or marine navigation, or in any other situation where inaccurate or delayed information could put you or others at risk. In an emergency, always follow official local authorities and emergency broadcast channels first.

10. AI features

Watchtower's optional AI features (explanations, briefings, and "Ask") run entirely on an AI provider account and API key that you supply — see our Privacy Policy for how that works. AI-generated text can be incomplete, outdated, or simply wrong ("hallucinated"); it is provided for informational purposes only and should not be relied upon as fact without independent verification, especially for anything in §8 or §9 above. Your use of any AI provider through Watchtower is also subject to that provider's own terms and acceptable-use policy, and you are responsible for complying with them.

11. Intellectual property

The Watchtower name, logo, and app design are owned by us or our licensors and may not be used without our written permission, except as necessary to describe your own compatible use of the app (e.g., in a review). Data and content sourced from third-party providers remain the property of those providers, subject to the licences listed on our Sources page. Nothing in these Terms transfers any intellectual property rights to you beyond the limited licence in §4.

12. Disclaimer of warranties

WATCHTOWER IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY DATA SHOWN WILL BE ACCURATE OR CURRENT. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of the above exclusions may not apply to you, and you may have additional rights that this section does not affect.

13. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, SLEEPING GIANT MARKETING SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) WATCHTOWER, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. BECAUSE WATCHTOWER IS PROVIDED FREE OF CHARGE, OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP SHALL NOT EXCEED FIVE THOUSAND INDIAN RUPEES (₹5,000) OR THE EQUIVALENT IN YOUR LOCAL CURRENCY. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for our own fraud or, in relevant jurisdictions, for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Sleeping Giant Marketing harmless from any claim, demand, loss, or damages, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of your misuse of Watchtower or your violation of these Terms, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

15. Termination

You may stop using Watchtower at any time by uninstalling it. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the app or any feature at any time, with or without notice — for instance, if a third-party data provider we depend on changes or removes its API. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including §§7–14) will continue to apply.

16. Export & sanctions compliance

You represent that you are not located in, or a national or resident of, any country subject to a comprehensive U.S., EU, UK, or UN embargo, and that you are not listed on any applicable government restricted-party or denied-persons list (such as the U.S. Treasury's Specially Designated Nationals list). You agree to comply with all applicable export control and economic sanctions laws in your use of Watchtower.

17. If you downloaded Watchtower from the Apple App Store

This section applies only if you obtained Watchtower through Apple's App Store, and states Apple's required minimum terms for a custom end-user licence agreement:

Acknowledgment. These Terms are between you and Sleeping Giant Marketing only, not Apple, and Sleeping Giant Marketing — not Apple — is solely responsible for the app and its content.
Scope of licence. Your licence to use Watchtower is limited to a non-transferable licence to use it on any Apple-branded product that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in Apple's Media Services Terms.
Maintenance and support. Sleeping Giant Marketing, not Apple, is solely responsible for providing any maintenance and support for Watchtower — see our Support page. Apple has no obligation whatsoever to furnish any maintenance or support.
Warranty. Apple has no warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to Watchtower, except, to the extent applicable, refunding the purchase price (which, for a free app, is nil).
Product claims. Sleeping Giant Marketing, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to Watchtower, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement, and claims arising under consumer protection or similar legislation.
Intellectual property rights. In the event of any third-party claim that Watchtower or your possession and use of it infringes that third party's intellectual property rights, Sleeping Giant Marketing, not Apple, is solely responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement, and discharge of any such claim.
Legal compliance. You represent and warrant that you comply with §16 (Export & sanctions compliance) above.
Third-party terms of agreement. You agree to comply with any applicable third-party terms of agreement when using Watchtower, including your third-party data or AI provider agreements as described in §5 and §10, and your wireless data service agreement.
Third-party beneficiary. Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms, and upon your acceptance, Apple has the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.

18. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, and the courts of Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, India shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, except where applicable local law gives you the right to bring a claim in your own country's courts. If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, United Kingdom, or elsewhere, nothing in this section deprives you of the protection of any mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence.

19. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time; we'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do. Continuing to use Watchtower after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
